Commonwealth agencies are required by the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 to ensure that information and services are accessible by people with disabilities. 

Our commitment 

Safe Work Australia is committed to making the information on this website accessible to as many people as possible. This website aims to conform to Level A (and in parts, Double A) of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2 (WCAG 2.0), developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). 

The website is designed to display on all commonly used Internet browsers and to work effectively with accessibility hardware and/or software. Page sizes have been kept as short as possible to accommodate a range of connection speeds and are scalable to accommodate common screen resolutions.

Downloadable documents 

Safe Work Australia tries to publish documents in multiple formats that have been enhanced for accessibility. Some publications on this website, particularly third-party supplied documents and older documents, are only available in the Portable Document Format (PDF). We have taken steps to provide alternate formats where possible available, commonly Microsoft Word and/or Rich Text Format (RTF). To access PDF files download the free Acrobat Reader.
