Model Code of Practice: Tower cranes

This model Code of Practice provides guidance for persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs) and other duty holders on managing the risks associated with tower cranes. It applies to all workplaces where tower cranes are used, stored or erected.

In this model Code, the word:  

  • ‘should’ indicates a recommended course of action, and  
  • ‘may’ means an optional course of action. 

The words ‘must’, ‘requires’ or ‘mandatory’ mean that the courses of action are compulsory.
